Slovenia world-famous for its gorgeous mountains – the most famous is the Triglav Mountain in NP Triglav, emerald green lakes, caves such as Skocjan Caves and Postojna Cave and winding rivers. And that’s exactly how Slovenia looks like as it is one of the greenest countries in Europe (more than 54% Slovenia’s surface are forests).
Number one activity is hiking and as number two it is cycling as Slovenia has excellent cycling trails for road and mountain cyclists. It is a perfect place for adventure seekers, nature lovers, hikers, bikers, photographers.
And sights? Lake Bled – the most famous lake with a little island and nearby mighty medieval castle standing high above the shore. Ljubljana is the largest city and the capital, but it is compact, colorful and lively. Coastal Piran is a magical town with its square, churches and defensive walls. And not to forget the vineyards and wine making, honey and beekeeping, Lipizzaner horses. Slovenia is the perfect destination for a healthy holiday.

We‘ll drive to one of the most beautiful Alpine glacial vallyes in Europe – the Logar Valley. Discover extraordinary flower species and waterfalls. Relaxing walking tour.

DAY 4
LOGAR VALLEY – ROBANOV KOT – MATKOV KOT
We’ll discover more of the Solcava region as there are 3 valleys in total, the Logar valley, the Robanov Kot and Matkov Kot. We’ll go for a walking tour and enjoy typical traditional meals in Bukovnic – the highest-lying farm, where we try sirnek (ripened cottage cheese), masovnik (flour cooked in cream), sirnica (a soup made of sirnek) and other specialties.

DAY 5
KRANJSKA GORA
We‘ll continue to discover Triglav National Park and drive to Kranjska Gora. A stop to see and explore Lake Bled, often described as an image of paradise, surrounded by mountains and forests. We’ll take a boat ride to the island (and take lots of pictures), then, climb to the oldest castle in Slovenia and enjoy the tasty lunch near the lake. And yes, we’ll try the famous bled cream cake – Blejska Kremsnita. Continue to Kranjska Gora.

DAY 6
KOBARID – TOLMIN – PIRAN
Drive through the Vrsic mountain pass, the highest mountain pass in Slovenia, to get the magical views, then descend to the Soca valley. We’ll stop at the Museum Kobarid (WW1 museum, to get more info about the Isonzo Front,- the scene of the largest mountain battle in human history ), then continue to Tolmin Gorges. Tolmin Gorges is a magnificent place. It is one of the entry points to the Triglav National Park. The easy walking tour takes around 1 hour to see the gorges, the Dante’s Cave, the Devil’s Bridge, the Bear’s Head. The water is crystal clear and it’s really the turquoise colour you see in the image.

DAY 7
GORISKA BRDA
Enjoy the morning in this peaceful area, we’ll drive to Lipica Stud Farm which belongs to one of the world oldest stud farms in the world where they breed the elegant white Lippizaner horses.Take a guided tour (50 min).

DAY 8
PIRAN – PORTOROSE – PIRAN
Piran – the old port town, is one of the most picturesque medieval towns in Slovenia. The coastal town Piran, developed under the influence of Venice, is considered to be one of the most photogenic towns on the Adriatic coast. We’ll do a city tour through the square to see the Municipal Hall, the gothic Benecanka house, walk through the narrow streets to reach the city walls (Gate of Raspor, Gate of Marciana and 7 towers), visit St. George Church (the views can be even better if you climb 146 steps to the top of the tower). Enjoy lunch on the famous Tartini square, in an elegant, Italian-style piazza at the heart of Piran (music composer Guiseppe Tartini was born in Piran). In the afternoon, let’s go to the neighboring Portorose town, only a 15min drive, walk on the promenade, enjoy a coffee and cake break. Drive back to Piran.

DAY 9
PIRAN – SKOCJAN CAVES – LJUBLJANA
Afterwards, we’ll continue to visit Skocjan caves, UNESCO World Heritage sight, where we take a guided tour through the underground to see giant stalactites, stalagmites, bridges and waterfalls.
Drive to Ljubljana, relaxing late afternoon. Farewell diner in the Old town (included)

DEPARTURE FROM LJUBLJANA
