1. How safe is to travel do Slovakia?

Generally, Slovakia is a very safe country (according to the 2024 Globa Peace Index, Slovakia ranked 27^th out of 163 countries. The crime, violence and vandalism is one of the lowest in Europe).

2. What language do people speak in Slovakia?

Slovak, which belongs to the group of Slavic languages (they’re further divided into western, eastern and southern Slavic languages. Western: Polish, Czech, Slovak, Eastern: Russian, Belarussian and Ukrainian, Southern: Bulgarian, Macedonian, Serbo-Croatian, Slovenian)

3. What is the best time of year to go to Slovakia?

If you would like to avoid the heat waves, then definitely end of April, May and June and of course September. If you don’t mind the hot weather, July-August might be good too. October is still a good month if you don’t mind lower temperatures.

4. How many days do I need to visit Slovakia?

If you would like to have a general idea about the country, we recommend to spend 5 days in Slovakia (see our tour Best of Slovakia), if you would like to visit most of Slovakia’s regions, we would recommend our Grand Tour of Slovakia.

6. What’s the best way to travel in Slovakia?

The absolutely best way is to travel by car (of course, if you prefer to discover Slovakia by yourself using public buses and trains, it is also an option, however, we don’t provide such self-guided services using buses and trains).

Our tours are mostly private tours for individuals and small groups where we use luxury persional cars (Skoda Superb) for 1-2 travelers and for small groups 3-6 we use our luxury van Mercedes Benz Vclass. For larger groups we use the buses from our partner (Mercedes Benz Sprinter 20 seater, Setra 30 and 50 seater)

9. Do I need a VISA to go to Slovakia?

Travelers from the USA, from 2026, will need to go online, fill the form and pay an application fee.

Travelers from Canada can visit Schengen area countries without a visa for up to 90 days in a 180 day period.

Travelers from Australia can travel visa-free in the Schengen Area for up to 90 days in a 180 day period

10. What sort of accommodation will we use?

It’s really important to have a comfortable accommodation while you’re discovering Slovakia. That’s why we use our in-depth local knowledge and handpicked and tried the most suitable accommodations for you in 4star as well as 5star category.

11. Can I choose the arrival date?

Absolutely. Majority of our trips and tours are private tours where you can choose the travel dates.
The exceptions are our 3 small group tours with fixed travel dates:

12. Will Best Slovakia Tours book my flights to Slovakia?

Your flights to Slovakia are NOT included in our travel packages. This gives you greater flexibility and allows you to save money by using your airline miles or taking advantage of airfare sales
