Generally, Slovakia is a very safe country (according to the 2024 Globa Peace Index, Slovakia ranked 27th out of 163 countries. The crime, violence and vandalism is one of the lowest in Europe).

If you would like to avoid the heat waves, then definitely end of April, May and June and of course September. If you don’t mind the hot weather, July-August might be good too. October is still a good month if you don’t mind lower temperatures.

The absolutely best way is to travel by car (of course, if you prefer to discover Slovakia by yourself using public buses and trains, it is also an option, however, we don’t provide such self-guided services using buses and trains).
