An incredible day trip out of Bratislava to a fascinating region!
We had such a great experience with Peter. Pickup at the hotel was perfect, the drive was smooth, and Peter went above and beyond to accommodate us. We had a wonderful tour of the very cool mining city, the castle, a delicious lunch, and still made it back in time to take the boat to Vienna! Peter is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and has a real talent as a guide. We can't wait to come back and do another tour with him! Tim

A fab winter day trip!
Don't let winter deter you!! Our tour of Banska with Peter on a cold January day was fantastic. Banska was both interesting and stunning. And Peter is a wealth of knowledge, I'd thoroughly recommend seeing the sights of Slovakia with Peter - next time it will be the High Tatras for us!Ashley

High recommended day trip from Bratislava with great tour guide
If you are looking for a day trip to a picturesque town in the Slovak countryside, this is a great choice. Our guide was knowledge and spoke excellence English. Highly recommended! Read on for a more detailed description: Great tour! Martin was our tour guide and he picked us up about 2 mins from our Air BnB. The ride to Banska Stiavnica was about 2 hours-the end of the ride has a lot of hills and tight turns, so if you get motion sick easily you can let your guide know to slow down and he will. Banska Stiavnica is quite picturesque-your first stop is at a museum that used to be a lookout tower. Martin, our guide, was very informative and spoke excellent English as he led us through a tour of the museum. Then, we walked into town, where Martin told us about the town’s past as a mining town. We also went to the castle, where we saw the prison cells, bell tower, and some of the old artwork. There was also an option to do a tour of the Stations of the Cross church, but we opted not to do that. Afterwords, we had lunch at a local restaurant which was very good. The day ended with us going back into town, doing some souvenir shopping, and eating some ice cream. Afterwards, Martin drove us back. Christine

Amazing tour! Great tour guide!
Our trip to Banska Stiavnica with Best Slovakia Tours is amazing from the very beginning. Peter is quick response and answer all my questions. The day of the tour, Martin picked us up from our hotel and then we started our wonderful journey with him, Martin is very knowledgeable and resourceful and caring. We really enjoyed our time with Martin! We had a blast! We can’t thank him enough! Highly recommend the tours with Peter and his team, especially Martin, my all time favorite! Great tour to see more of Slovakia

A wonderful tour to a gem of a town!
This tour was a lovely snapshot of a charming town in the middle of Slovakia. Peter was a fantastic tour guide, and he provided so much information about the town itself as well as the history of Slovakia and its place in the region. A great private day trip outside Bratislava
This was a highlight of our trip so for. Martin was an exceptional guide with great historical and cultural knowledge. He was adaptable and tailored the day to our family interests. This is a good trip if you want to discover more of Slovakia outside of Bratislava. Banksa Stiavnica is picturesque and fascinating. Highly recommended. Michael

A great day in Banska Stiavnica
Our guide gave us a great highlight history lesson on important events in the history of Slovakia on the way, then related various aspects of the town to those events. A very informative day with lots of hiking and a great lunch. Our guide was very attentive and it really felt like our tour was customized to meet our interests. It was great to hear some of his personal stories and share ours as well! It was a very hot day, but our guide brought plenty of water. My only regret is that we toured on a Monday and unfortunately the castles were closed for inside tours.Neil

Great
We spent one day to the very nice historic town of Banska Stiavnica, a UNESCO world heritage site and to Calvary with Peter who is an excellent guide and driver. Not only he took us the the so many places of interest in Banska stiavnica and around but also was always willing to give us good cultural and historic information. He answers all your question and also can adapt the tour to your special requests. If we go back to Slovakia or plan to make another tour in Central Europe, we would be so happy to do it again with Peter. Marjo

Great Visit to the Slovak countryside!
It was a very pleasant day with Peter visiting the interesting Banska Stiavnica UNESCO site and the hike up to Calvary. Also great discussion of Eastern European cultures and the outside influences that made those countries and people who they are today. Also nice to have another day to see the Slovakia countryside. Their Brand Says It All!
When your company name is called Best Slovakia Tours, you better be the BEST! And that’s the most accurate description for Peter and Jane. They are just the best! They are professional, knowledgeable and helped me with a custom tour to the High Tatras, Banská Štiavnica, the Wachau Valley and Melk Abbey! Although we don’t leave for Slovakia until the 18th, we already know that we are going to have a wonderful time! Thanks to Peter and Jane for their expertise and great customer service! Oh and by the way, they also have custom tours to neighboring countries - Austria, Czech Republic, and Hungary! A GREAT TRIP !
A group of six ladies with a lot of energy but none of us too young booked a Day Trip visiting different sights in Slovakia , all worth visiting. Peter,experienced and very reliable,designed the route.It was a long day but we managed to see a lot. Patrick our guide and driver was really professional and caring and we can say that we had a wonderful day out with lots of laughs and good moments. Highly recommended!!!Deborah

I wasn’t in Slovakia for a long time, but seeing those cities and Bratislava was enough. Professional, Knowledgeable & Friendly
Peter picked us up on time at our rental place. Faced traffic snafus, closures, etc but he got us everywhere we used the time to learn lots about Slovakia. Clean comfortable car, excellent English speaker, and all you could ask for in a guide. Attended the mine tour--given only in Slovak language so you need to bring a guide to translate if you chose it. Beautiful setting, but wear shoes that can get muddy and wet as mine has ample water flowing in it! Then to brew pub for a upscale, traditional lunch, walk about the town, hike up to Calvary (THE BEST PART BY FAR) and home. Literally gone 12 hours because of the traffic issues--but Peter was great the whole way. Mark

Amazing trip and totally worth it...
Amazing trip and totally worth it. The city is situated in a beautiful lush mountainous area which has historical importance due to all the mining activities that used to go on there and it's different from the other parts of Slovakia I visited. I had an excellent guide who was generous with his time and made sure I made the most of my experience. If you have time include a visit to a mine there are daily tours and have a meal at the ERB Brewery situated close to the city centre which serves excellent food and beer. Mariella

Matt was great! During the long trip, we chatted extensively on a number of topics. He knew the ins-and-outs of Banksa Stiavnica. It's funny what turns out to be the highlights. The old castle was impressive, and the pilgrimage hill was inspiring but it was the new brewery that was the highlight - great food and incredible beer!
